Welcome to Coffs Harbour Bicycle User Group (Coffs BUG)

We are a non-profit community-based Bicycle User Group (BUG) for the people of Coffs Harbour and nearby suburbs. Within our club there are cyclists of various levels of fitness and experience. Some regularly use their bike as a means of transport but most see cycling as a means of recreation and fitness. Many of our members suggest that scheduled rides in a group motivates them to actually get on their bike and do it! And the interaction over coffee at the end of a ride certainly enhances the day’s activity.

We have a regular easy ride from Coffs Harbour to Sawtell headland every Thursday morning, starting at Howard Street near the Hogbin Drive roundabout at 7.30am (or 8am during the winter months of June, July and August), with coffee at the Sawtell Surf Club before riding home.

We schedule a different ride each Sunday morning (refer to our Ride Calender ).   Rides vary in length and type of terrain. They are usually on quiet roads or cycleways where available. On some rides there is the opportunity not to do the full ride but a shorter version. Each ride has a qualified ride leader and a “sweep”, who rides behind the slowest rider and makes sure no one is left behind. All riders are welcome, no matter what their experience or fitness level.
